The Best Way to Explore a New City? On an eBike, of Course!

Visiting new places, it can be stressful trying to fit everything you want to see into the span of a few short days. Before I travel to a new city I spend hours researching all the locations I want to visit, and it ends up being an almost impossible feat to see everything I want to see in just a few days. Not to mention the hassle of mapping it all out and then managing transportation logistics: do I need a rental car, taxi or rideshare, bus, trolley, subway or even walking? I’m not the only one, right?

Last year I traveled to Berlin, Germany, to capture content around the Serial 1 /CTY eBikes. Europe is a major market for us—especially Germany—so it made sense to capture some content in a European setting. This was my first time visiting Berlin, and there were a lot of locations I wanted to shoot. Berlin is a massive city and I had no idea how we could get to all of the locations we wanted to shoot at in just two days.

Fortunately, Berlin is one of the most cycling-friendly cities in the world and we had a full fleet of Serial 1 eBikes assembled for the photo shoot so we didn’t have to bother with rental cars or long subway connections–we were able to zip from location to location entirely on eBikes! During those two days of shooting we were easily able to visit all the locations on my list and many more. Moving from location to location by eBike was an absolute game-changer. Not only were we able to get to each location faster than if we were stuck in Berlin traffic (or even dealing with subway crowds), but we were able to see so much more of the city and discover new and even more interesting locations that I would have otherwise missed—especially since so much of our travel was on Berlin’s excellent system of bike trails that are only accessible on two wheels!

This experience has changed my whole perspective on travel. I was able to ride an eBike and see new locations I would’ve missed if I had gone by car or subway, but most importantly I wouldn't have been able to participate in in Berlin’s robust bike culture! It's something I won’t soon forget.

If you have the chance to travel to visit a new location or even revisit a place you’ve been before, I highly recommend exploring that place via eBike. You will see it from an entirely different perspective.
